This page is for those of you who live out of our area. Our accelerated programs, such as the one now underway which began August 2, are designed for persons like you who do not live in our area. The format is 50 hours of instruction per week. People came to our full August program from throughout the US and the world, including 17 from other countries.

Our next accelerated programs will begin March 7 and August 8, 2009. If you are interested in either of these programs, we recommend you make your reservation very early to guarantee your place. Our courses can fill far in advance. All of our recent accelerated classes have filled in advance, and we have had to turn away many prospective students from full courses

You are welcome to take just a portion of any available program, so you can join even if you can just fit the first one or two levels into your schedule. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary as one of the original state-licensed hypnotherapy schools. With the largest alumni of any hypnotherapy school, we have taught thousands of graduates from over 40 countries including many leaders in the field. HTI has all major approvals, including eligibility for internationally recognized Certification by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, the original and largest Hypnotherapy Certification agency with 9500 members. An aspect of their outstanding leadership in the field, Randal Churchill was the first A.C.H.E. President and completed his most recent term in 2007, while Marleen Mulder continues as A.C.H.E. Vice President.

San Francisco is one of the easiest cities in the world to fly to. With three international Bay Area airports, it's the most popular tourist destination of any city in the USA. Our classes are at a lovely Inn with plenty of free parking, a ten-minute drive from the Golden Gate Bridge and with good access by bus from the airports and other Bay Area locations. We all know from experience what a tremendous difference a very special teacher can make. In addition to their vast skills and experience, Marleen Mulder and Randal Churchill care deeply about our students. Because of their hands-on dedication, they continue to teach about 90% of our highly experiential courses. No one could copy the phenomenal live demonstrations given by these master teachers. HTI's other instructors, all have mastered particular aspects of the field as well as providing wonderful teaching skills.

Obviously, as important as the number of class hours is the quality of time spent. While we provide additional advanced classes beyond Level Four, we do everything we can to prepare our students for the hypnotherapy field in our 200-hour four week accelerated programs (which don't have to be completed in one semester). For further reasons besides exceptional teacher quality, we believe we teach more in less time than anyone in the field.

For example, Randal Churchill has written award-winning teaching texts specifically designed for our courses. Add to that a wealth of written materials provided in each level of class.

Also, instead of teaching 5 days in a row, then taking each weekend off, we never teach more than 3 days in a row. Because of the concentration of fascinating material we cover each day, it's best by then to have a day outside of class to assimilate and do several hours of experiential and reading homework. We couldn't possibly cover as much and you couldn't learn nearly as effectively if we met the traditional 5 straight days. These are just samples of how we cover an amazing amount of invaluable instruction so quickly.

Furthermore, we strongly believe the most effective way to further enhance your hypnotherapy skills after such a concentrated month is to start a practice. We've honed our program, improving with each semester over three decades, to provide strong preparation for the field in these intensives. If you want further training beyond the vast range of learning experienced in these first four levels, you'll get far more value from our most advanced levels after developing your experience and expertise.

The A.C.H.E. recognizes 200 hours of class instruction from a state-licensed school as the standard to become a Certified Hypnotherapist. There is also a level of Clinical Hypnotherapist for an additional 100 hours, which we are happy to provide for those who are interested in even more advanced training. But don't let anyone suggest that you should have 300 (or more) hours before starting a hypnotherapy practice. That is not the opinion of the A.C.H.E., which has always led the way in setting appropriately high standards in the field, nor the opinion of any national government nor any major certifying organization in the world.

We schedule two accelerated programs (50 class hours per week in class) each year. This course is especially for those from outside of Northern California; and also for local persons who would prefer that format.
